New horizons of performance of materials operating in extreme environments are only accessible by merging the materials-related expertise so far dispersed all over Europe in different fields of applications, e.g. space industry, turbine manufacture, electronic device industry, power generation research, and radiation facilities.
Close cooperation of institutions with proven specific strengths in the field of materials for adverse environments is required to resolve the fundamental materials issues and road blocks for applications in “ extreme environments” and to lead to corresponding new and/or enhanced products.
The ExtreMat Integrated Project assembles this critical mass of experts from different materials-related industries, research centres, universities and science institutes in Europe in a multi-sectorial and cross-cutting approach. read more...
