The JEC Composites Show is the leading composites trade fair in Europe and a highly recognised international market place for innovation in the composite industry. It attracts professionals from all sectors and from all along the value chain, including raw material production, processing industry, equipment and machine supply, as well as service and distribution. In 2007 the JEC Composites Show recorded 27,336 visitors from 96 countries, with a focus on Europe, followed by North America and Asia Pacific. Compared to 2006 the exhibition area increased by another 12%, presenting now more than 1,000 exhibitors. The impressive interest from industry confirmed JEC’s position as the leading composites trade fair in Europe with high penetration in all sectors.

As high-tech composite materials play an important role in ExtreMat, the JEC Composites Show was selected as a very suitable platform for presenting the ExtreMat project towards an expert audience from industry from different sectors, and to invite them to benefit from ExtreMat results and join the ExtreMat Industrial User Group.
ExtreMat presented itself with an own stand module as sub-exhibitor on the joint pavilion of Bayern Innovativ. Exhibits provided by the ExtreMat partners ANSALDO, EADS, Max-Planck Institute of Plasma Physics, MERL, MT AEROSPACE, SIEMENS and PLANSEE demonstrated the range of research covered by ExtreMat. Delegates from Siemens, Plansee, Merl, EADS and Bayern Innovativ were available at the stand for the direct dialog with interested visitors.
